Ahhhh it was one of those kinda days that you live for. I just got my 20 years in with Houston P.D. yesterday. Knowing I can retire is a nice feeling. Folks at work wanted to know how I planned to celebrate (in other words was I planning on getting tanked). My simple response was "Nope, I'm going for a ride". Then that is exactly what Sammi & I did for the afternoon- a reflective VX ride to nowhere with the windows down. Simplicity has it's rewards even if only for one cool fall day. :yesb: :yesg: :yeso:

From one popo to another congradulations,
20 years in any dept. is a feat in itself musch less a huge dept like Houston ( the B.S. ,the burn out ,the politics...etc) . I myself am coming up on my ten year mark and can't wait for the big 2-0. Keep up the service and be safe. Hats off to you brother

Thanks brother. I saw the Hendersonville and almost made the mistake of thinking it was N.C.. I'm always around Hendersonville (N.C.) in August (Brevard N.C. actually) and figured I'd bump into you one of these trips. Again, thanks for the wishes.

much congrats from a past hood rat to a respectable PO-PO. Much respect to you all the rest of the Po-Po VX'ers I call brothers.
I know how hard it is on the job. My Brohter was a NY state trooper who left the job after Sept 11 thinking he lost my sister-in-law and neice. it was harder for him then it was for her to deal with losing him to the job. So much Love and respect to all that do a great job of protecting and serving even though a lot of people never think of thank you as much as they should.

Thanks for the thoughts Tony. Being a transplanted Rhode Islander down here in Texas made the 20 even harder. I do miss Wickford from time to time.

Congrats George - I knew the date was getting close and meant to ask when I called you about that criminal mischief the other evening. I think this calls for a BIG Houston meet (maybe Kemha? ;) - we’ll get more than 2 this time! Most weekends are open from here out with the exception of Nov 15/16.

Good idea Tone-I'm always up to a visit with friends. The weekend of the 22nd is open for me. Should be kinda nice "down on the (Kemah) boardwalk" around that time and it might be enough of an enticement for others to join in the festivities- :laughg:...the more the merrier. Another consideration is Dickens On The Strand. It's, I believe, the weekend of 12/6 in Galveston. It's alot of Christmas kinda fun and the two little ladies would enjoy it.

Let’s plan on both! Jordan will be with me both of those weekends and Lisa might have recovered from her surgery for the first meet and for sure for the second. Make it so officer!
