What ZuZoo is this? The main thread says that it's ZuZoo VX (which doesn't make sense really :bwgy:). Is this ZuZoo XV? I thought that was last year. I think this year is ZuZoo XVI. Don't know what bearing that has on the sticker.....but it might.....
BigSwede

I think XVI is correct. My first ZuZoo was IV in 2001.
Has there been a sticker with a vx driving over a jeep grill? Or driving over the remains of a broken jeep?

You get the idea.....do with it what you will (the VX probably needs to be less detailed/more cartoony)

Not that I know that much about MOAB (or Photoshop obviously), but what does everyone think of something along these lines?
Add a good one-liner (and a LOT of Photoshop touch-ups), and you're good to go.

Stickers have customarily been a solid color (white) so the design needs to be fairly basic. Landscapes and photo type stuff don't do well.

That's why I said something along those lines. All it would need is the graphics dumbed down. If it's something everyone would be interested in, all the design would need is a basic arch, a straight line for the rope...and the VX profile usually speaks for itself...and there you are...again.

Haven't done anything with the logo in a while, could be something simple like:
http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/data/500/thumbs/ZuZoo.png (http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/23577)
With or without "Isuzu" at the bottom. And probably gussied up a little from my amateurish graphics skills.

Do we want it like this image or the inverse i.e. the letters in white?
All those skinny white lines going thru the letters, both vertically and horizontally, will likely peel off pretty easily.
Although I like it this way, I think the inverse, so we have bigger chunks of vinyl.
Thoughts?

04/12/2013, 03:11 PM
Since the stickers are white and the "black" is your window the inverse would not work.

yes it would billy, we've had this discussion beforeā¦it ends up being a defined square decal like this in 2011. It's the "postive" vs. "negative" image, but it's not the most attractive.
All I'm saying is those fine white lines will be very vulnerable to coming off.

well that's cuz you only wash your truck about 1/year but SOME chose to wash it more often in an automatic carwash and those brushes scrape those fine lines off after not too long.
I don't know exactly what Moab rock art stickers are, so I don't know their quality, were they made by the same local shop we usually use for the custom ones? Are they the same quality vinyl?

Yep, same kind of material. Mine tend to crack long before they peel due to the sun. I'm with Jo though...I prefer the looks without the square.

Jo that's what I'm trying to say! I like the other version better also, AND I learned from MY ****up in 2011 with these decals that tiny lines in WHATEVER frickkin' type decal (positive or negative) DON'T STICK WELL! YOUR version of the 2011 DIDN'T have the small white lines in the TREAD DESIGN, MY *&%$ed up version did!
Pick whatever version you guys want. I'll just replace mine if it has stuff come off.

I have no idea how these stickers are printed but - can they have 2 colors? Make one solid sticker with a black background and have all the details in white so there aren't all the "fiddly bits" susceptible to peeling.

It's a solid piece of vinyl that's cut rather than printed. If you want a white logo, you start with white vinyl, black logo- black vinyl, etc. I'm sure you could make a more complicated "two part" design with two colors by splitting up the logo into two sections and then fitting them together on the VX window.

Remember that these stickers also become the T-shirts. It sounds like we might be doing both images this year so everyone will need to get in touch with the t-shirt shop there in Moab ( http://www.moab-utah.com/tshirt/ )to see what format they need the images in so we can all get our t-shirts made, and more stickers cut if needed.
Triathlete
04/16/2013, 10:08 AM
If you send the images to the tshirt shop a week or two early they can prepare the screens and it makes their job easier and it brings the cost down for the shirts. If you give them a call theycan give/get all the info needed. Really nice/friendly mom and pops place.

the vinyl I use is high performance calendared, much better suited to print and cut than straight up vinyl cutting, so if you want it white with no black contour, there's no point in printing it. I would recommend just getting it done on a vinyl cutter. I'll talk to Krysten about a sticker that uses some color and see what she can come up with. I spent years, myself, as a Graphic Artist, but we must pass the torch. We're not going, just trying to help out.

The last many years have been just white..very bold..no frills.
If people want color..cool.
If not, I'm more than happy to do as we/I have done in past years...
...and get them done simple white.
It also makes it easier for the T'Shirt shop, and cheaper for all..
.... to keep it monochromatic.
