I am still overheating and I am now wondering if it is a bad fan clutch.

I have replaced, thermostat, water pump, timing belt, and intake gaskets, hoping that would cure the problem. I did have an intake gasket leak.

Any solid way to test the fan clutch or fan speed?

Hi there,

The way I've read to test them is to get the engine up to running temp. Then, shut off the engine (this is key) :winkgray:... and turn the fan by hand. If the fan clutch is working properly, it should be tough to turn.

Hope that helps.

there are ways of checking on the net. I remember mine had no resistance, I think cold. when spinning by hand, there was no resistance.
NEW clutch, could barely spin it and my overheating problem was fixed instantly :yesgray:
