He does it all himself. He did his front and rear bumper too.

Awesome work. I remember you showing me the bumper last year and saying it was setup for a future tire carrier.

Glad to see it turned out great.

SCHWEEET!!!

I may just have to copy that.:)

Is the single hinge sturdy enough when the carrier is swung out?

I thought I had a lot of drop on my hitch ... you gots me beat.

I don't know if you'd be willing to produce and sell these things but you should definitely consider it. The same set-up from TireGate would be $795 (HG Series + Jerry can mount) so I'm sure you could beat that price and still make a tidy profit.

Dibs on first reproduction. :raiseshand: :)

Day-Uhm. Like I really needed another project right now ... but I've got some square tubing at home that would be perfect to build one of these.

Rekin I'd better put on the enginerd hat:)

"Is the single hinge sturdy enough when the carrier is swung out?"
The hinge is rated for 1000 lbs, and the whole thing only weighs 130ish.

Hmmm, looks nice, but not wheeling with that thing sticking off the back:confused: Anything too steep and you are dragging that rack on the ground. I already drag my hitch, but that thing looks badass!!

That's what I was thinking...departure angle will be effected...I guess if it is strong it will scrape and be ok

I was told by some when i first did the rear bumper that it would get hung up on ledges, but I had no problems. Thousands of Jeeps with carriers just like mine have made it through Moabs trails without breaking tire off. So I'm not to worried. And it can be removed in about 5 mins. :bwgy:
