When prepping my VX for a paintjob, I noticed one little problem, I had a small chip in the paint where top of the door would hit the roof! Upon closer examination, I noticed that door hinge has plastic (Teflon?) bushing that slipped out down the pin and added some slack to the door hinge. That slack allowed door to touch the roof!
I tried searching, but couldn’t find anything on this topic.

Man, that's a new one for me. Here I thought that was only a problem on old '60's and '70's vehicles. There are bushing kits available from the likes of NAPA, CarQuest and others for that very problem, but I'm thinkin' you're gonna have to take some micrometer or dial caliper measurements to get the right size for this application. Best of luck, I'm sure there is a fix available!

I didn't have your problem but I did have the upper hinge on the rear door tear loose from the door.
Of course, I did it to meself since I was running with the full size spare on the rear door with no added support.
BOL with the repair.

The fact that this is happenning on the passenger's door (less use), suggests that this might happenning from simple driving!
I wonder how many people have this problem, but do not realize it? Yet...
This happened to my drivers side door. I replaced the hinges.
