I am looking to beef up my tires a little and put a winter set on my VX. Have stock wheels on. Would like to keep noise and ride harshness down as well, which is why I say beef up a little. Anyone have any recommendations?

I put a new set of Dunlop Rovers on yesterday, 265/75/16 on my Dragon. Smooth ride, little to no road noise and priced around $600 mounted for the set. Could have gone a little bigger but wanted to keep it at that price range.

Any mods needed to go up to a 265 75 16? I have no lift or cladding mods. Will this size work without rubbing or complications? Notice any change in mpg? Thank you!

I'm running Firestone Destinations right now (33x12.50 R15's). It's a very good tire but probably not aggressive enough for your taste (not mine either but it's what I needed at the time). I'll be going more aggressive next time I need new skins but I haven't decided on what yet. I've always been a fan of the Mickey Thompsons but I hear they don't wear well.

My cladding is trimmed on the front side of the wheel well but not to an extreme and no lift. The tire comes out past the cladding by about 2 inches. Gives it a a broader stance. Looks mean without the knobbys. Still have 3 inches or more above the tire and at least 2 in front and behind.

I put 265/75/16 mudstar radials on mine, they look pretty aggressive, and does the job on the road too. im gonna get some mudzillas on it , saw them on a truck yesterday, and want to see the fit on those, if you want to go econ on these, cuz 300 a tires kinda harsh, I know walmart has some that are very cheap and look a bit aggressive. good luck

I have the nitto tetra grapplers and had to trim the front fender bottoms but aside from that im on my second set and no extra road noise - but a bumpy ride and an awesome stance and presence.

I have a set of these (Grabber AT2 in 275/65R18-116S @ 32" O.D. weighing only 44 lbs) on my 100% OEM Stock VX mounted on the stock 18x7 rims. They are bolt-on perfect; require no lifting or torsion bar cranks, and will give your VX a 1.25" ground clearance improvement over stock. I only had to minor trim the inner side corner of the front wheel-well cladding (very common). You got those on stock 245/60 18"s?

275/60 18's on aftermarket rims with -6 offset.

I had some small trimming to do, but on stock wheels you should be fine.

The PO had nittos on at one time, with stock wheels. I tried to use nittos with my aftermarket rims and it was a no go for me because of the excessive trimming needed or a lift.

I can get a great price on Dunlop Grand Trek SJ5's size 275/60 18.
Just need to find out if they will fit without trimming anything.
