Vx is running hot in stop and go traffic in upper 90s+ temps, but seems to be fine on the highway and in the mornings. Going to replace the fan clutch as that seems to be a common thing to go from my forum searches. Mechanic noted 30 degree temperature differential across the radiator top to bottom and mentioned that there could be mineral deposits or other in the radiator limiting it's efficiency too. He mentioned that I may want to consider replacing the radiator as well. I have 50k miles on the Vx. Your thoughts?

Well, got a new radiator, new fan clutch, and redesigned fan. Haven't driven a lot on it yet, but all is looking good so far. Old radiator didn't look too good so glad I got it swapped out.

Did you go OEM fan clutch, radiator, fanblade?

I believe the parts were technically OES rather than OEM, though I'm not sure of all the in-and-outs of the designators.

Is it branded Isuzu? I only ask because VXorado had used a non- OEM fan clutch and it didn't solve his overheating problem, but when he got the OEM one, it solved the problem.

Had to replace mine last year. The OEM Isuzu fan clutch was about $250, and the required re-designed fan blade was $100. No more o/h for me.

Don't believe it's Isuzu branded, though it has a similar re-designed fan blade and had costs inline with the Isuzu part. I don't have the paperwork with me right now, but will check on company info later. The new fan has already blown a lot of dust off my engine. :)

Okay, here is the scoop. Parts are a bit different than what I thought.

fan clutch
manufacturer npw pn#8-97349-761-0, sold by worldpac

fan blade
manufacturer pn# npw 8-97349-762-0

radiator
pn# 1571vp, sold by 1800 radiator

Looks like NPW is NISSAN PUMP MFG. CO.,LTD of Osaka Japan. Is this the same fan clutch and fan blade as OEM?

Also, the radiator looks like it isn't OEM. Should I have any concerns here?

I don't think any of those parts are OEM Isuzu.
The OEM Isuzu radiator is over $400+. Was yours around that?
I decided to go with a custom made all aluminum racing radiator for about $625 instead of the standard OEM one since it wasn't all that much more.

I don't have pics of my OEM boxes, but I know they were all branded Isuzu.

I do have pics of my new OEM redesigned fan blade, you can compare to. This thread has info, see post #5:

Nope, my radiator was about $200. That's definitely aftermarket.

The new fan blade looks just like yours and has 9 blades.

It's been up to 100-105F here in the afternoons and between the new radiator and new fan clutch the Vx temps now go to a bit under midway on the gauge and hold there nice and steady so that's good.

My old fan clutch was likely toast for awhile so I don't have a great comparison, but I do note the new fan is significantly louder under moderate to significant acceleration.
