remotes and alarm

Yesterday my remote stopped working. Took out my other remote and that didn't work either. Checked batteries and checked led on remotes good in both. When I am driving noticed the red alarm light is on. When I take out key and leave vehicle is is off, stays off when I manually lock vehicle with the key.
Anyone have any ideas what is going on?

Maybe your 'mode' got changed somehow. Here's the security system manual. Try to reset the mode after you put new batteries in your remote.

Couldn't find little green thing. I have located in the past but could not seem to find it this time.
Decided to treat the vehicle like a computer and reboot. Disconnected battery, reconnected and everything works now.
