Look what they`re selling on the Japanese yahoo auction!
http://page7.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/g10091797
It says that it was used for rally racing, has a 3500cc engine(probably US spec), 7 point rollcage, 5 speed manual etc.
It doesn`t have an airbag and the cd player and powerwindows don`t work anymore;)
It`s white because they took off the sponsor stickers.
Now $4600,-!;Do;
Shipping might be costly though...
Man I want that!...
It is one of Tonbo Houses VX's.
I wonder how much it would be to ship to the US? and if we can even drive that thing over here?
Very cool though

Hi Joe, I can bid for you...I just wonder about the shipping...
It doesn`t say it`s location...but as far as I remember Tonbo is located in the Tokyo district.

FWIW - it costs about $1000 to container ship a car from Hawaii to the west coast. I would think that the cost from Japan wouldn't be much more unless there are external factors like excessive fees on the Japanese end.

Isn't Hawaii about halfway between the west coast and Japan? So in turn wouldn't the cost be about double that?

Frieght shipping is not something I do regularly, but I figure that the most expensive parts are the loading and unloading. Same way that flying from NY to LA doesn't have to cost twice the price of flying NY to Chicago.

My fiancee handles international shipping on things in such volume they use multiple ships, so I've got a bit of an "in" for that department. Container shipping for autos isn't too bad though. I've dealt with some vehicles shipped to and from Europe for less than $1000 each. A lot of companies that handle that will put about four vehicles in a container which doesn't even get close to most containers gross.
Shipping is definitely the deciding factor though!
