Hello all, I have a 99 VX and have had lots of work done recently and am at a standstill as well as the "isuzu certified" tech/mech. I recently had the engine re-manufactured at 130000 miles and was running rich on the drivers side after reinstall. The mechanic said it may be the computer? Got a used one because the old couldn't be updated? Now and for the last 2 months, the mechanic has chased fault codes and checked everything we can both think of and it still has a cold start and won't idle down to right RPM. It starts, and thought it was coolant temp sensor or thermostat but everything checks out. I don't know what else to do at this point, I have put too much in to this one of a kind and would hate to scrap it now. Can anyone give any suggestions?

Get a second opinion... Go to HERE (http://www.isuzu.com/dealer_locator.jsp) to try another ISUZU service shop, or look around for the highest recommended garage to check into it. Good luck!

My VX is at Gwatney Chevrolet here in Jacksonville already and they can't figure out what to do. The mech has said he wants to run compression test to rule out that problem.
If you tell us what codes you are getting, and why you went for an engine rebuild in the first place, we might be able to help more.
Especially how you know "was running rich on the drivers side".

Double check the cam timing on both sides? these things are somewhat notorious for the timing being difficult to set after the engine has been disassembled to change the timing belt, timing belt pulleys, water pump, etc.
