Flat KAT (Flat Stanley with a twist)

Jheyson hit me with a brainstorm the other day to start some sort of 'Flat Stanley' activity to help promote some VX owner meets along the East Coast.

Naturally the twisted mind of VX ownership kicked in & we decided that 'Flat KAT' would be more funner. I've asked Sue for her favorite VX pic that I'll print in poster size as a tribute to her valued membership to the forum. We'll see how many owner signatures from the Easterners we can get on it before putting it on a relay out to Moab.

I've included a poll to guage interest.

Nice Tom!! Good work on creating the thread, and I like the "Flat Kat" for the relay.

* It is a relay from the East Coast to the Moab, passing on the cool picture that JAMAS "blended up" to different owners in different states. Similar to the relay in the olympics (Vx Olympics)

* It will go across America, and many members will have the chance to meet and pass on the picture with signatures

*We can create another thread once the relay takes place in order to put pictures of different members in different states.

*The idea is to have fun and give thanks to Sue (VXKAT) for her commitment to the VX family and for her helpfulness through the years to many members, including me. Even though , she doesn't have her VX, she is part of this great community.

*Iam sure the members will have a lot of fun doing this great relay activity "Flat Kat"

*The good thing is that we have enough time before the moab to spark interest in this activity, so we can get members who are interested in participating in order to create a route in the map.

*The driving distances will be fair and according to the willingness of each owner in each state.

* In cases where we encounter a blank spot, we can send Private message to owners or we can mail it to the next state and continue the relay.

...everybody can write ideas and make plans in order to make it happen...

Yah, I need to 'crack on' with the print & set up a couple of local meets. Then send it on to Jheyson. From there we'll pass it along by hand or mail to get it to Moab in time.

Sue sent me some more pixes last night (high res) so as soon as I figger out how to blur the lines, I'll get'r done.

I don't want to step on your toes, but I can make the collage if you want to send me all of the original files.

I have the latest version of photoshop and a digital art degree to power it.

I just realized how slammed my schedule is between now & end of March. I don't think that I'll be able to plan any meets very soon so I'll just try to get a few local siggy's & get'r in the mail to someone who can schedule a meet.

I picked up a mailing tube but it's too small so I'll have to hit the PO (or FedEx) on my way home tonight.

For those that won't be going to Moab & are not likely to get ahold of the poster beforehand, I have an idea how you can still participate.

Print out the passalong card, sign it (& write short message if'n you can write real small), & mail it to me. I'll scan them to create an extention for the poster.

The gang gave me the signed "flat kat" posters when I was in Moab this week and it was just very special for me.

I don't quite know how to express my HUGE heartfelt thanks :heart: :heart: to all of you crazy, wonderful, eccentric and terrific VXers!

It's been a really rough year for me and the posters and kind words just made me light up with joy and happiness!
The flood gates opened too and it was just a very wonderful moment I'll never forget.
