Trying to track down a problem - 99 VX -When I turn the cruise on (Cruise Main button on dash) indicator on dash come on just fine. When I go to set the cruise at desired speed - will not set, and light on dash blink. Any ideas where to start?

I'd check fuses first. The control could be on a different circuit than the sensor. Check the fuses in the cabin & in the engine bay.
You may also want to find someone with a scan guage that you could borrow to see if the speed sensor is registering on the 'puter.
Did anyone find the fuse? Found my 1999 to have the same problem last night. Will be checking today.

Since the set light flashes when you try & engage it, I doubt it's a fuse. Most likely it's the brake light switch. The switch has 2 contacts inside it. 1 for the brake lights, & the other for the cruise. Unplug the connector at the cruise servo. Pin #3 (wire color is brown with a red tracer) should be grounded when the brake pedal isn't pressed. When you push the brake pedal it should show no ground (or open circuit)
If you don't know how to test for ground. You will need a test light. attach the clamp of the test light to the positive terminal of your battery. When you check the brown w/red wire the test light should light up when the pedal isn't pushed & it should go out when you push the pedal.
