so, sitting here, looking at Craigslist and someone is parting out a 98 Trooper. I wonder what parts I could get that would be worth hanging onto.

Any suggestions?

Depends if it's a manual or automatic. Drivetrain is virtually the same except for the front axle disconnect. Fuel delivery is the same. If it's an auto all the TOD stuff is the same as a VX. Get the rear door and fog light switches and switch panel to replace cubby hole if desired. If it's a 5 spd get the tranny, clutch master, slave, and hydro line along with the ECU and fuel line. Even if you don't want the 5 spd someone else will.

And don't forget the flywheel, the hard fuel lines, and the exhaust manifold.

Check the diff ratios too...

...probably 4.56..BUT..ya never know,it might have had a 4.77 swap.
