Hello Fellow VX owners,
Goal: my proton back to life.
Iam planning to purchase a 99 in Bismarck , ND
I live in Fort lee, New Jersey.
I am 95% ready to make the deal as soon as possible.
........just a few question please...........,
What Car shipping company would you recommend? Reliable and Safe?..past experiences?
How much would that cost?...just an idea....I will call to get quotes
Is there any member who lives near by who can help me take a look at the VX?I could pay for fuel and your time.
Anything else I need to know ?
Thank you all,

I had good experience getting my VX shipped from MO to VA. It was farmed out to some good ol boy with a gooseneck behind a pickup. It cost about $1G. The only problem that I had was waiting for him to get a full load to make the trip worth while (about 2 weeks).

Thanks guys,
I really appreciate the input. I have been talking to D.A.S , and they offer to do the transport for 805$
Here is problem.
The car is located in Bismarck, ND
D.A.S' station is located in Minneapolis, MN ....and they can transported to their Linden, NJ station
Therefore, I am looking for transportation from Bismarck ND to Minneapolis MN.
I am still calling some places. I am looking for a local transport company in Bismarck, ND ...
Any suggestion is welcome...
By the way , transportation from doorstep to doorstep is quite expensive 1600@..3000$

Drew did door to door service...
...from Atlanta to San Diego ( some 2000 miles )
For $850...open carrier.
I really would call him....Bismark to Ft Lee is less miles ( 1600 ish )
...though not such a regular route.
I gave him an open time frame..and saved lots of $$$'s.
DREW...
..Auto Star Transport.
1-888-802-8250 XT 2240
BTW...is it running/drivable on/off transporter..
...cause that makes a difference too.

Thank Jo,
I appreciate for the info. I called the office right away, but nobody answered. I think the office is closed by this time since it is 8:09pm here in NJ . I left two messages. One to the extension number , and other one to customer service.
I also filled out the quote questionnaire. I hope I get a response by tomorrow.

IMHO, the biggest and the best auto shippers is D.A.S. (Dependable Auto Shippers) www.DependableAutoShippers.com. They have a massive network of drop-off/pick-up sites and they will transport your vehicle without a scratch.
I bought my VX from eBay and had it shipped to me from across the USA. Plan on $800 -- $1,000 for shipping. Visit the DAS website!!!

I'm sure DAS are really good
But looking at post #4..he's already talked to them.
And it seems their partial shipping is expensive..
...and the door to door looks outrageous IMO.
I have no idea who is 'the best'.
And in reality, we are talking about a crashed/partout VX ..
....not a Pebble Beach collector car!
However, I have used Auto Star 3 times..
...with excellent and affordable results.
So..I thought it was worth mentioning :_beer:

Good experience with Montway Auto Transport; shipping from southern California to New York. Take a look at their site for a quote. Was cheaper than uship quotes/bids.
Cost was $199 up front and $810 at pickup - $1,009 total.

I have used Cascade multiple times for door to door service, but ultimately it doesn't matter as they are all just brokers. The drivers pick up bids posted through their community and the broker takes a cut as their fee. I will be door to door shipping the RS in a few months, Norfolk, VA to Seattle, WA area is 1300ish right now.

I just used Honest Auto Movers to bring a Hummer H3 from Florida to Texas. Quick service. Car was in front of my house in 5 days from the initial call. Open carrier. No issues!

Hi,
Over the years, I have bought many vehicles, tractors, off ebay, and other vehues.
I have had good luck with U-ship.com.
It is a bidding process, so, if your not in a hurry,,, just let it get a few bids.
U-ship requires, that providers be insured, and bonded.

You can also check with the individual providers that bid and obtain quotes directly form their websites. A lot of times it will be cheaper. I did that in the past as listing the VX twice on uship didn't get me a descent rate.
