I have 2 key fobs for my 2000 baby.

The fobs will lock the doors and I get 1 chirp meaning that the alarm is set, but when I try to unlock with the fobs all I get is 2 chirps meaning the alarm is turned off. But the doors don't unlock. I still need to use the key. Is this fob unlock feature broken or was it just never implemented?

FOB should unlock doors

Thanks tom4bren, but press the button as many times as you want, the doors still don't unlock. Is there something inside the doors that may have gone bad?

Paul,

If it were just one door doing it, I'd suspect the solenoid that unlocks the door. Since both doors are doing it, that's less likely.

I assume that the switches on the door function properly for both locking & unlocking the door.

That file I posted earlier explains how to program the security system for several different modes. Maybe try to program it back to the basic mode & see if that helps.

Unfortunately, we have multiple drivers of the VX so I've never used the FOB so I can't be of much help (other than providing the pdf's around here).

I had a relay go bad on my VX and I think the symptoms were the same. I can remember if the inside lock switch worked or not. The relay is located behind the driver side kick plate.

When you hit the button the third time does the passenger door open? I would find it odd that solenoids on both doors would go bad at the same time. Does the passenger side wiring for the solenoid run through the drivers side in series or are they separate and parallel. Don't have any suggestions, just throwing out some questions that hopefully someone smarter than me can answer.
