tire size!?

i special order 275/55/18 for my stock rims, however the tire shop is telling me that they can not pop the bead! what is the largest tire that you can put on stock rims?

Tell your tire guys to try harder or go work on the other islands! There are lots of 18” owners running that tire w/o issue. 285 is the max for that rim but it is doable without special tools or procedures. Good luck!

Sounds like your shop is paranoid. I didnt even get a lifted eyebrow or a shrug when I had my 285's done.

They dont by any chance work on bigwheels and trikes do they? ;)

Go somewhere else and get it done. They obviously don't want your business. A lot of people are running wider 285's on those 7" wide rims. I had those on mine and my tire company had no problem putting them on. Did they get the right tire?
