Hey guys , can anyone give me some advice on a good source for a tranny rebuild kit? I see a ton on ebay and amazon and cant tell the difference between one and another. Im in the final stages of my move back to Hawaii and want to take the rebuild kit with me vs paying to have one shipped to Hawaii.
Same for front drive axles? I dont want to get some crappy ones that will leave me stranded.
Thanks in advance for and advice.

A little trick I do is check out the weight. If it is Chinese junk using inferior metal it is lighter. This I used for the water pump rebuild kit. The heavy slightly more expensive turned out to be a quality piece.

Send a PM to VXobsession. They run a transmission shop and should be able to steer you in the right direction.

I think I'll make this my next upgrade.
I get the tranny component slip code on long drives.
It keeps me local :_mecker:
Now to find a worthy installer.

Thanks so much for the advice, that rebuild kit looks tough. I have a friend who runs a shop so Im gonna see if he can get parts for me at a lower price. I searched the forum and as far as half shafts go it looks like the suretracks are about the only option.http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DCNQWGS/ref=dra_a_rv_ff_fx_it_P2000_1000?tag=dradisplay-20&ascsubtag=4a251a2ef9bbf4ccc35f97aba2c9cbda&dra_hfr=1&dra_ohs=0-0
