View Full Version : Power control module
Does any have a power control module #8093755992 that they could sell.
Mine is broke and it's my daily driver.
Thanks Steve

I see a few for sale here (http://www.hollanderparts.com/used-auto-parts/2001/isuzu/vehicross/electrical/590~engine-motor-control-module/590-58283~elec-cont-unit--ecu----3-5l--6-cyl--lower-center-dash-/). Good luck.
Question for the room... will a straight ECU swap work? Or will there need to be some hooley-gooley done to resolve conflicting VIN data, if any?

hooley-gooley
REALLY???
I think the term you were looking for is "Flash":)
According to the shop manual, anytime the PCM is being serviced, the Tech should verify that the latest available software is installed. It further states that if a new PCM is being installed, it needs to be programmed. It later indicates that the software is model specific. It never indicates that the proper VIN be entered.
So ... installing a used PCM should not require any hooley-gooley-ing.
But ... since the PCM software is model specific, it may be prudent to get one from the same model year since we know that the climate controls on the 99 (manual) are different from those in 00 & 01 (automatic) and the the 01 tranny is different from 00 & 99 (one out of the 5 solenoids (PWM instead of on/off)).
That's my $0.02 ... & I want change!!!
Sorry Steve but I don't have one for you. May want to PM vxobsession since she & hubby recently stripped a VX from a boneyard. Mebbe they snarfed one to keep on hand.

You can't tell me that "chipped," "flashed," or "reprogrammed" is as descriptive as hooley-gooley.
That's why I use it for the VX, and save those o-fficial terms for my... other vehicles. ;)
RAZ, you're looking for a '00 I presume? I wonder if the part number changed year-to-year to reflect any hoo- I mean programming changes.

Yes looking for a 2000 year
Does anyone know if a 1999 will work in a 2000 found on local
Thanks Steve

It should. The difference with the climate control shouldn't affect the puter.
