I had a thought for designing a board to brainstorm VX mods off of. Wanted to get others thoughts on building it. Should have the feel of any number of tracking plexi screens that everyone thinks the military has in some sort of bad 80s movie.

1. Basically take the Vehicross vectored blueprint that we have all seen.(haven't found this in high enough resolution to use for the project)

2. Enlarge image it to maybe 3x4 feet or so. Whatever a typical frame holds.
3. Sandwich it between layers of thin plexiglass.
4. Add an LED strip at the top that illuminates the image (not sure how this is done in signs I have seen)

5. Add a marker holder on the bottom
6. Use a fine point dry erase marker to scheme/brainstorm

Thoughts? I think the collective group could. Build on this idea and make a design we could use in our garages. Make it magnetic too?

If you have a permanent image (orthographic views of a vx), then you can just get a 1/2" sheet of clear acrylic and have a reversed image laser etched on the back side. Frame the whole thing to be mounted on a wall or free standing. You can use the front glossy side to sketch ideas with a dry erase marker. Light it from the top and bottom and the etched lines will glow. Just my $.02.

ron: Thats what I was hoping for was a whole bunch of $.02 collaboration to make a better design, based on a rough idea rolling around in my head. I figure we would have to create each of ours individually though. I know I will over here in Germany-the only VXer here....

I've blown this one up to poster size. Lines are pixellated but not too bad. I'm sure someone could render something from it to make it work.

I've got other images that I got from deermagnet (including the negative of this one). Lemme know if you're interested in them. I think I included them on the maintenance DVD but can't remember for sure.

I could try some canned software to increase the size and smooth it to see if the rendered image is useable.

Yeah, that would be much appreciated if you are able to shoot me the highest resolution blueprint image. Looking for the one that does not have the measurements. Like to get a few Meg's in size to blow up to dry erase board size!

There is one available for a cost: http://www.the-blueprints.com/vectordrawings/show/3558/isuzu_vehicross/
Its in Adobe Illustrator format (.ai)

I don't use Illustrator as much as I like, so I wouldn't know how to do this manually myself. But someone out there might...:yeso:
