Just passed my 14th inspection whew! But, I was made aware of the need to replace my shocks on the 2001 VX. So, does the community have a recommendation?

The consensus is rebuild oem, rancho 9000, or OME.
I have the Ranchos and like them.

Billy,

Thanks mucho. My forum search looked like the ranchos were the way for me to head. Now if only I can get another 14 years out of this ride.

And I had my originals rebuilt and have loved them for many years since the rebuild :-)

Just an FYI. During the research phase of this project I found a post where someone had purchased 4 Rancho RS9000XL shocks for $349.00 from www.samsoffroad.com back in 2007. Well today 8 years later the same deal cost $359.00 with free shipping. How often does that happen???

Many years ago Rancho was having a $100 rebate and Sears was having a sale so I got quite a deal $159 installed. Remember someone is always waiting to rain on your parade.

Well Circmand I really appreciate that! I just received a call from the seller who was very knowledgable about the VX indicating that an owner in Oklahoma frequented the shop. Told me the the read 9000s were different on the VX and was ordering them directly from Rancho and wanted to apologize for any delay. Glad I didn't buy them on Amazon.

I got in on that deal...and the Ranchos have a lifetime warranty.

I changed mine this year for $85 installation charge...:bgwo::bgwb::bwgy::smilewink
