My daughter's Beetle was totaled a few weeks ago by a 60y/o two-time drunk driver while it was legally parked in front of her apartment building in downtown Omaha. The guy was caught by the police while he was trying to get unstuck from the snow by ramming my daughter's car and the snow behind him, over and over in a rocking manner.
Anyway, we have to find her a comparable $4K car and have run across this 2003 Passat Wagon 4-Motion GLX. There are no signs of accident on this one, though the dealer does have other rebuilt and salvage rigs that makes me nervous.
VIN: WVWYH63B43E016656
If anyone has AutoCheck or Carfax means, I'll donate another $20 to the forum (I'm probably due again anyway). Thanks, Bren.

Thanks, Jo. What do you use?
I would like to get a deeper report on this VW, though may be looking at other cars today.
Thanks again, Bren.

You didn't hear this from me, but...
Do a web search for dealer autocheck inurl:vin
Click on the first search result (right now it leads to an autoexact.com site, but this trick works with other sites as well)
Replace the VIN in the URL with your own. Note that if there's any other information after the VIN, such as an id=####, just replace the VIN and keep the other info intact.
You'll get the AutoCheck report from Experian with the basic details of the car, along with any reported accidents, title issues, the last reported odometer reading, and the full history of the car.
At least it's worked for me in the past anyway.

Ok, I can't get Y33TREKker's technic to work.
If anyone has access to AutoCheck or Carfax, we just put down a deposit on this Jetta and would love to be able to get a report on it. Thanks, Bren.

That method seems to work best if you run the initial search in Google.
