View Full Version : VX crashed, need parts ASAP

My Vx got crashed into buy a Subaru, the witness and the police say it was his fault but I have had problems in the past with other peoples insurance not paying. We will see what happens. Nobody was hurt at least we do not feel hurt tonight we might feel different tomorrow morning. The only casualty today was the Subaru, I think it might be dead.
I am going to need parts so if anyone has a parts car please let me know.

Yeah, don't believe that "last piece anywhere" BS. My shop was able to put hands on a brand new piece for a few hundred bucks not that long ago.

Hiya Christine ...
I may be able to help with some of the parts.
I have a crashed one, but damage was other side

I dont have a front cladding piece, bumper bar or rad mounts...
..but I can probably help with tie rod, A-arm etc

If you up a list of what you need....and I'll see what I've got :thumbup:

Cool thanks, I cannot take it apart or do anything until the insurance adjuster looks at it, once that happens we can get a list of stuff we need for it.
I did see an IronMan on the Denver CL http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/4931998076.html they say it is crashed but the pictures don't really show any and I do not know if I want to part out a decent IronMan. Maybe someone here wants it.

Are you going to Moab this year? I am planning to go the VX should be fixed by then.

Let me know if you want to get this and I'll put some money in for some parts that I may need as well.

Or you could probably pick this up, part it out, and fix yours for almost free...

Looks like it was Rampage108 until it came to CO.

Ron front plate and grill plus roof rack add up to about half the cost of that proton. Sale seats and extra cladding pieces and you've made your money back and still have a ton of parts left.

I heard back from the seller of the Proton with a bad motor and they said they would let me know if the person that said they would buy it falls through. I do not know how he got a buyer that fast I emailed him within an hour or so of the posting.

Anyone here buying it?

Are talking about the Proton? I posted about that one a couple of posts up, the only other one I can find is an Iron Man for $3800 which is a little steep for a parts car and it should be fixed and saved in my opinion.

I want to thank bartmanS4 for the VX tie rod and the Trooper parts he gave me!
We took a part the VX front today and got a look at the damage, it is kind of bad but not as bad as I thought it would be. I found most of the parts I need but I still need the front cladding/bumper cover. I tried the places below but they do not have the front cladding or I have not heard back yet, anyone else have any ideas or places posted I missed? Well there is one on eBay but they want as much as just buying it from Isuzu so unless they come down more on the price or include shipping for the price they have on it I will just keep looking.

All Hyundai isuzu is a good source for parts but they are generally higher with their prices.

I will see if they have the front cladding and post what they want, new from Isuzu id around $800 plus shipping so used should be 30% to 50% less, I will post what hey say.

I also found out to day that the right frame tongue is bent a little and will need to be pulled out so the suspension will be correct and it will be true and strait again so that is going to cost more and might delay the repairs a little. My brother is awesome and found a frame shop that may be able to do the work tomorrow, on a Sunday! if so he should be able to get it fixed and painted by next week. If this all comes together it will be great. he was also able to fix the rad support so that is good.

For those of you that do not know this my brother has a body shop and mostly does Hot Rods and custom stuff but will and can do collision work and loves a good challenge especially on unique and interesting vehicles so the VX is repair is right up his alley.

I will keep you posted on the repair and if anyone does come across front cladding for a good price please post or PM me.

I found the front cladding and should have it on before Moab, I still have a little trouble shooting to do as it has a slight pull when braking and the steering seems a little lose but I can drive it and hopefully nothing will break in Moab.

I did see the VX I wanted to buy for parts that was for sale for $1500 is back on CL and they want $2500 for it now. Looks like they just wanted to make a quick $1000. If I was still interested I would offer him what he paid no more.

FYI, I got the new front cladding from Tynan's VW in Denver (ex-Isuzu dealer) it was $600 including shipping to them, he said there were 2 available in the states I bought one so if anyone else needs a new one give them a call and see if you can get the other one.
