So a few weeks ago, started to notice a burning plastic smell in the cab. uh-oh. Seemed to happen when the brake was on. hmmm.
Turns out those those LED blinker mod that Tone used to sell might have an expiry date. The circuit board was cooking itself when the brake lights came on.
I had mine put in 7-8 years ago. Those with this little doohickey, should inspect theirs to see if its heating up too. Might have been just mine though...
(For those still confused what this is, it's a little black circuit panel that wires into your spoiler LED light and can be programmed to make the light strip blink in a pattern. It's cut into the two wires leading up to the spoiler LED, dead center of top hatch opening behind vented roof plastic panel.)
