Clicking sound???

There is a clicking/tapping sound coming from the engine area of my vx, only when I am on the gas. As I accelerate and the RPM increase, the clicking gets faster. The clicking does not occur when I take my foot off the gas. Does anyone know what this is?

Check egr nut. Search loose egr nut on forum. Sometimes it may be loose causing a VW diesel sound. Tightened mine a few years ago and no sounds since. Good luck.

If not egr nut...

Possibly fan blade touching shroud or radiator as engine flexes on mounts under acceleration?
