I've been noticing something lately - when viewing certain lights through my windshield, I get a bit of a double image. The windshield is clean and just has some RainX on it. Also, this only seems to occur with the new traffic lights and walk/do not walk signs here. The city recently went through and replaced all of the old ones with new LED ones, and those are the only lights I experience this with. Any thoughts on this?

It's the RainX. The extra coating has a prismatic effect on the glass. You'll get the rainbow effect from it sometimes as well.

Well, a big duh on my part - I paid more attention last night and I had some streetlamps doing it too, but hadn't really noticed that before (?). I think maybe the RainX is thicker on certain parts of the windshield, and/or it is just certain viewing angles and light intensities, because not everything yields a double image. Slightly annoying, but not a big deal really, considering in the rain I usually don't even need my wipers. :-)
