The company I work for rents National Trail Raceway (Central Ohio) twice a year for all the employees to have a good time racing their own cars & a couple Mustang GT's (we are a very large Ford dealer) for everyone to beat. I raced the VERY tall & big tired VX at the earlier track day & was actually impressed with how it did considering the 36" tires. It ran a best of 17.77 at 76mph. One of my parts managers has a TJ with 6"lift, 35's & 4:88 gears. He was suppose to bring it to race me last track day. But didn't end up bringing it. This time there's a lot of **** talking going on (we are both old time drag racers). He's talking putting Nitrous on his jeep. I have enough left over race stuff that I could do the VX also. Really it's talk! I am tempted that if he puts money on it I'll show up with stock tires & wheels :p I'm 99.9% sure I can take him the way they are, but this is just bragging rights!!:bgwo:

The Jeep guy didn't show :mado:. I ran 3 times. 17.65, 17.64, 17.64! He's lucky we didn't race.

I've been meaning to get my VX out to the track someday too just for kicks. Although a 17 second 1/4 is not very promising, I was hoping for 16's at least.

If you have stock tires & it runs properly. It should do 16's

So I did finally get my VX out on the track a few weeks back. I'm running 35's, 4.56 gears and a 5-speed swap. First time ever being on a drag strip.

Best time was a 16.536 @ 82 MPH

I think with a little more practice, and stock tires I could be in the 15's.
