My Vehicross is a keeper! Yeah, she's a thirsty diva, but we're still going strong. I don't know a lot about cars, I was a Rider and gave up my bike for her. There's not a single day that I have any regrets!
My question, the shocks that came with the Vehicross (previous Owner) are Rancho 9000's, they're in terrible shape...can anyone please recommend what I should get to replace them?
My brother bought me a pair of Rancho RS5000, which was a nice gesture. I thought it be best if I asked some advise from my Vehicross family (no offense to my brother)....Please, any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for reading.

I agree with Dan in that Ranchos seem to be the top choice outside of OEM.
I'm running 9000XLs which are adjustable.
I'd put the RS5000s on and see if you like them.
You can get OEMs rebuilt for about $900 and there is a set of ones that need rebuilt on eBay for $250 right now...kinda pricey but OEM is a great ride (read as stiff as can be and handles great) if you care to go that route.
The Rs5000 are way too soft.
The 9000 XLS adjust from 1 - 9 with 9 being the stiffest and closest to the original factory shockas.
If the Ranchos went to setting 12, they would be about the same as factory.

Thank you everyone for your comments, I'm excited at the prospect of getting this done. Please excuse my ignorance, but whether Rancho or another brand, what exactly does adjusting the settings from (ex. 1-9) do? When you I hear "the stiffness", what does that mean in terms of what I'd experience as a driver? For instance, if I'm driving across a bumpy road or terrain....what would it mean? That the Vehicross adsorbs the impact more while I experienced it "less"?
I'm learning...so thank you....

Ques. Is there any major difference between using the RS5000 vs RS9000XL? Also, will the Rancho RS9000X (not XL) work on the Vehicross?

I had the Ranchos for years, but pretty much just kept them on 9... I now have OME (not OEM) shocks to go with the OME springs, and love the ride.
