How to remove glove compartment?

Opened the glove compartment, this morning, and something seems to have fallen behind it, blocking it from closing. How can the glove compartment be freed to be fully opened forward or removed so that I can remove whatever fell behind it? TIA.

I suspect a portable CB radio antenna (8"?) fell behind the glove compartment.
