If your VX was destroyed today. And buying another one was not an option. What would you buy?

I would probably get a Jeep Wrangler, but I know I wouldn't like it as much, even if it was new. :sighgray:

Old built Toyota truck or 4runner or a Sammi.

I'd buy the Toyota RSC concept prototype. I'd spare no expense.

Wow, good question. There are no SUVs or trucks out there that I like. All overpriced, unreliable garbage now. Can't do a fixer-upper cause I just don't have that kind of time anymore.

I guess, I would just call it a day on the big tires market and pack it in for trucks. I already have an STi, so not worried about winter. Maybe get another car. Something more comfy, but sporty for my long commute. Golf R perhaps. Yea, probably a Golf R. The modding Gods simply love me....

Depending on what the new Bronco actually looks like...I might wait for that.

Otherwise probably go back to a coupe...Lexus RC would be my choice.

What attracted me to VX's first was the uniqueness. Always a draw for me. My true love is for sports cars. VX had a compromise between a sports car and the utility of an SUV. Which because of my work hours (on call 24/7/365) means often I am commuting on snow covered unplowed roads at 3am. The Porsche Cayenne is an option but in my opinion is not a very attractive vehicle on the outside. There are plenty of AWD sports cars available. But "clearance" is king on unplowed roads. It does not matter how many wheels spin if the car is belly hung.

I may have to compromise and make a split with something like just a 4wd truck and something sporty to drive the rest of the year. I cant seem to find anything in the same category as my VX.

My oldest son came over in a new Tacoma 4x4 today...I was impressed except for the automatic...:)

Maybe this Nissan Gripz, it is kind of cool from the back and side but but kind of ugly in the front.

This is the Toyota C-HR, I think the front of it is ugly too.

I think I like the Nissan better than the Toyota, What do you think?

Also kind of digging the Jeep Trailcat...of course it will never be produced though.

The RSC did not look that much different and I did not like it any better that the other two newer ones I posted links for and it likely will never get made as the prototype was done in 2001.

OMG, I watched Car and Driver this morning and they talked about the long awaited C-HR and showed the final vehicle design with the cover on it, the shape was just like a Prius and they said Toyota decided to make it a 5 door instead of the 3 door and it might be a hybrid. So I guess we can stop dreaming about it being the next VX :( so sad.

I was looking at the Mercedes G series to see if the prices of them have came down in the last few years and I found the new G concept. How do you like this?

Looks good. Needs more 2-door.

Looks good. Needs more 2-door.

Yes 2 or 3 doors is a must I have owned 15 cars, 13 have been 2 doors and 7 of them Isuzus.

Sadly, 2 doors doesn't sell. Even the 4-door wrangler is outselling the 2-door. I could live with suicide-half-rear-doors, but I can't do 4. Heck, the VX could probably have been done with doors like that--without messing up the lines of the body too much.
