alarm problem 2001

Just picked up a 2001 in pretty nice shape! Im familiar as I have 3 troopers and have had an amigo but can't get alarm or keyless to respond. The dash light never comes on no matter what I do, have disconnected and reconnected battery, tried programming a remote by holding green button on module and by trying 6 different instructions and no response at all. I have checked module wiring and all is hooked up and I see no wires disconnected or tapped into and all fuses check ok although I don't think there is one for alarm. Any suggestions?

Battery in the fob? I had one that the battery tested good but I bought one anyway.

Got home and put the new battery in to replace the one that tested good and worked like a charm.
