Anyone replaced the front drive shaft CV's ?
I just replaced the half shafts and my snapping is still there.
I took it out and tried to break it.. couldn't break it. I want it fixed before Moab. Next I had my wife climb some little hills till I heard it. It has a ring in the clang.. lol. Comes from the center. It even does it in reverse after not making a hill. I unlocked my front hub ( yes I have manuals) and I couldn't get it to snap and I really tried. It makes the noise in 4L and normal TOD. Mounts are good.

I have a video on you tube if that helps..

Thanks for any help

Does the popping increase or decrease in frequency if you are turning under a load? I watched the video and you definitely have some binding and release popping noise what kind of CV axles did you have put in and did you only replaced the outer CV joint keeping the old inner cups?

I just saw your post about surtrack axles. I recently put surtrack axles in my 93 Trooper RS because the CV axles were shot and popping. After putting the sure track axles in the popping was not as bad, but still there. I had to pull the front differential find some good low mileage OEM inter cups from a trooper in a wrecking yard and use OEM CV axles. The popping is no longer there.

Mine doesn't pop, click or make any noise while turning, driving normal. only under load. Going up a hill, going over big rocks, in deep sand.
Of course doing any of those thing while turning it will do it.
So my next course is replacing the inner axles. But if I'm going though all that work I would like to put a locker in it.
Aussie or ARB. So if anyone has one for the front for sale shoot my a PM with a price.

Thanks
