I am buying a VX that is in Kansas, driving it back to Denver, then to Phoenix. I am certain this 2000 VX with 51k miles has a partial warranty. However, I will not be asking the dealer to give me a 30 day warranty, but would rather ask them to change, repair, alter, fix, duct tape, glue....

I am asking the people here to give me a short list of things I should ask the dealer to look at for me. Can you help please?

Thanks

Darrin

This is a short list of things I'd have the dealer to look at:

* Headlights' weather strip
* Hood insert (Cracks)
* Serpentine belt (Cracks, wear)
* Window binding (Try taking a look inside the door panel to check the window regulator)
* Leaks in the area surrounding the windshield
* CD changer

I'd also ask them to change all fluids and flush and switch all oils (engine, tranny, TOD, etc.) to synthetic. Obviously some of these items won't be covered under warranty. It wouldn’t hurt to bring a trusted mechanic along with you to check the powertrain overall. Good luck!

This sounds good, but these are things I can do. I was leaning more towards engine/power train issues. Don't want to be half way back and it break down on me.
