Ive been talking to a major manufacturer about making us Nerfbars and Pushbars or maybe a Pre-runner
style front bar for our VXs.
They mostly us 3" round tubing. At the moment they offer about 3 or 4 styles with I think 3 finishes
(not including raw) for anyone wanting to maybe paint of powdercoat their own.
Black / chrome and a bedliner type rough black material w/ an UV protectant. They will be available
in their finishes as well as raw. That way if you can finish them in your own way if wanted.
Also, we need to agree on a style. They can be traditional style OR we can design our own, and by
that I mean we can make the curves coming out from the body and back in to our liking. We can also
figure out how far we want them to stick out from the body too. The lengths will all be pretty much
the same Im thinking due to the attachments at the body mounts under the truck. (side bars)
I think we are only going to be able to do 1 design or style ..but the finishes will have options. I already
have a design in mind and we are going to try and do a prototype next week for the side bars. In which
then Ill post some pics for review and see what people like or not like. IF you have any of your own idea
about the side bars, feel free to draw up a design and or submit your pics of what you would like to see.
Once we get a design the majority likes, Ill start having them made.
Same for the front pushbars and for that I have maybe1 or 2 ideas, but again feel free to submit pics of
what you are interested in .We can do the main bar in 3" at the time or smaller Same thing for the final
finishes too.
Im attaching some pics of the style side bars available finishes and all.
Std 3" and with filler plates or steps if you will in a few materials.
Not sure about pricing yet but our stuff will be made specifically for our Vehicross's and will all be bolt on
no welding required and carry a warranty. This is big for our community !!

I posted some pics in the Gallery for now for some finish ideas
havent quite figured out how to put them in the post, so Ill just host them myself
later today and put them in my post.
When I get a prototype side bar mocked up next to my Vehicross next week
Ill add those pics too.

Im excited to see what you guys draw up! Ive been looking for some extra add ons for my VX, have you ever seen the JDM (not a push bar, more of a light rack add on), its kinda lower profile and smaller, it sits right under the grill. I think something like that would be awesome

I have yet to figure out how to post pics up here, maybe someone can enlighten me. But if you have a pic of
it, please post it up and Ill look into it as an option.

Click on "Gallery" (to the right of "Forums"). Notice "Upload Photos" link on the second line. Try that. After uploading photo, you'll probably have to cut/paste link over to a thread.

we can buy these premade and just maybe make correct brackets to bolt them to our VXs correctly
is one option... http://www.motorsportwarehouse.com/vx/push2.jpg

I like this one alot...not sure how feasible or cheap it would be though

I have considered a full plate bumper and modifying the mounts. I recently made my own winch mount that hides a winch behind the cladding. The problem is cost. Full bumpers aren’t cheap.

what are people considering "expensive" ?
thx

Relative term. Expensive for a plate bumper? $1,000+. Tube bumper? $500. Bull bar? $200.

no doubt, but I feel like most of us VX owners are use to paying a little more for
things for our trucks by now because of the scarceness of off the shelf parts out
there for them. Im hoping we will be able to supply those wanting some of these things
with affordable pricing, and not sacrificing quality of course. If anyone is interested at buying
either side bars or a pushbar, please dont be shy and chime in, so we have some sort of
idea how much interest in these items.

I am always “interest”. ;) ready to buy is another thing. I have dropped nearly $2k into my motor and transmission over the last few months. So short term the VX budget is tight. Maybe this fall I will have room for larger ticket items.
Replacement front (rock) bumper that compliments the stock curves, has a hex-patterned grille inlet, improved airflow over stock, and could accommodate a winch...this is something I would play handsomely for.
I like this kind of look:

Here's one that actually has curve built into the bumper design, which would probably compliment our stock lines more.

simple, effective and not taking away from the factory look was what I
was envisioning.. not overly heavy ...also a good place to mount like an
LED or more lighting.

If I can get my winch through it, this is a route I could explore.

I would be very interested in some nerf bars as well as a bush/bull guard or light bar for the front bumper. The only nerf bar I have found that might work is a universal one from DeeZee for $208.43 which has some bad reviews and one from Westin for $319.99 that says it fits a Isuzu Hombre and one that calls it a Vehicross Full Cover Kicker Slider from Rocky Road Outfitters for $799.00.
For the bush/bull guard I have found nothing that says it fits a Vehicross but did find a Westin Safari Bull Bar that says it will fit a Isuzu Rodeo and one that fits the Isuzu Hombre for about $170.00.
Does anyone have any knowledge of these parts or know of any that would fit the Vehicross? Looking for bolt on vs drilling if possible. Thanks

Anything new on this thread? If no new nerfs/sidebars or bull bars coming soon are there alternatives that fit. Really want both nerf bars and a bull bar for a light bar. Does anyone have photos of the Tone brackets for the Luverne nerf and Westin bull bars? Better yet does anyone have a set of usable brackets they are willing to sell?
I am going to make my VX a project car and open to any ideas out there. Has anyone worked with the Snake front grill and made it into a show truck? Like wrapping the hood medallion with a snake skin wrap and/or a snake head decal? If I can get the bull bars to work, I am planning to put a light bar on it and maybe put 2 8 inch lights on it and put cobra eye's on them (for cobra mustangs). Might do the same with the new roof basket. That is for starts. Maybe wrap the whole truck in snake skin or just the side mirrors.
She has good bones. About 60,000.00 miles on her. She has a two inch lift and 17 inch Tuff AT red/black rims on 285/70R/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers.
I feel like an artist staring at a blank canvas. Thank you all from a scared new member not really knowing where to start.
