Just got home a bit ago... and read some email... an unfortunate email from Rob at Advance Adaptors... seems that the transmission to transfer case adaptor plate don't just bolt together... BUT Rob said that if I know of a decent machine shop, I should be able to get them to make an intermediate plate to connect the two together. Boy oh boy do I wish I had my new tranny here right now! Time to get my FIRST piece of custom fabrication done! I'll hopefully be able to get that started on Monday... as long as I pick the motor and tranny up on Sunday! ONCE I get said intermediate plate fabbed... I'll post scaled pictures for everyones future use!
If you have any input.. suggestions of any kind... lemme know. TTYL!

They mainly do V8 to Porsche, but maybe they have something useful.

BTW, I have uploaded pictures of the adaptor plate to my gallery. Anyone want to try explaining what the lever looking things is on the transmission side is? I see a rod in the transmission that lines up in this area, but if oyu look at the plate, the hole that the lever covers DOESN'T go anywhere... Hmmmm... I knew I shoulda been a mechanic! Geesh!

I think I posted this on the wire too, but just wanna make sure. You're tryin to mount your TOD to the back of a 4l60e right? Have you made sure your front output will clear the tranny pan? That pan sticks out a lot on the passenger side, and isuzu tcases dont have much reach. I know the standard cases dont have anywhere near enough reach to clear. Not tryin to discourage you, just wanna make sure you dont spend a bunch of time and money and then find out it wont work. Good luck

Randy,
Just guessing but, could the rod in the trans have a tapered end that, when the adapter is installed, pivots the top, rounded portion of the lever into a position that is closer to the trans output/tod input shaft, thereby retaining or positioning something on the shaft?
What is the brass-colored thing at the top? A sensor?
Could the lever be doing something (positioning/retaining?) the part that the brass thing is riding on or sensing?
What does the end of the trans look like?

Just adding some info for future reference... the link below shows the newly fabricated transmission to transfer case adaptor. It was manufactured by Novak Conversions... they focus primarily on Jeep conversions, but Eric (the owner) was very helpful on this... Anyway... here it is...
