I finally got around to taking apart Coach’s engine http://www.shutterfly.com/osi.jsp?i=67b0de21b349466305fc
and there is NO way you could service the lower end IN the vehicle! Strongest bottom end I have ever seen though - 6 bolt mains! But #1 and #2 rod bearings have changed structure and look more like aluminum foil than bearings - see the pics. Not sure what caused it as the crank refuses to come out, but once I stop bleeding, I'll continue looking into it....

Crazy. Look like curtain rod hooks!

Hey Tone, you still have that clip of the 3rd brake light mod someplace? I tried to access it via your link to mac.com and it's coming up as a bad page.

i have seen that before at work.they were cases where the motor had water in it and the bearings were not properly lubed.i would say it is from lack of oil to the bearings. for whatever reason. does the oil pump feed from the back or front? shawn
