Another tire question. Looked but didnt find an answer on other threads (might be because im tired too)
Ok, stock 18 rims. What is the largest tire size i can do (with the lift kit installed) dont want larger then 32/31.5.
also, what is the widest i can go?
Understand about the cladding trim, not a problem.
thought about asking the people at the tire store, but then thought go with who has done it already for best results.
Thanks

they look great, handle well, are quite and i only had to trim a little of the front cladding (very easy)

EDIT: if those are the same as Autox-racer has, kinda small

Yep Itsayjack is steering you true...I have the the 285X60X18 Terra Grapplers too. I think Discount Tire has a conversion formula on there website, but the tire is just short of 31' in dia. and has a section width of around 11+". It looks like the tire that Isuzu designed there gapping wheel wells for the VX.
These tires are without question(imho) the best set up. bar none. You will have to trim a teensy part of your cladding on the front edge with a jig saw. Takes less than 10 minutes, take about 2 inches from the front outside edge of the cladding and cut at a angle to a point about 6 inches in the direction of the license plate. To get a better idea... turn your steering wheel to where the center of the tread of your present tires are closest to the front bottom edge of the wheel well. Your stock tires will be about 1 1/2 -2 inches from that tip. Just measure up about 2 inches up the cladding and cut at an angle toward that "curled up" lip at the bottom of the front cladding. Your piece should look like a little triangle and not noticable. If it is you cut too much ;eekr;
I would send some pics if I had them...actually somebody already has on some previous threads. The rear tires fit without mods. I made the cuts first then bought my tires.
I know some go with 33-34" O.D. tires. for that Monster "Big Foot" look. Not the ideal choice IMO for decent gear reduction on some "hair raising" icy slippery sliding steep downhill sidehill butt puckering 4 wheeling where slow staying off the brake pedal travel keeps you in the road..sorta.;oob;
This tire looks like it belongs there and is a pratical tire for this car.
Getem and you'll thank me.
As for the tire rim they recommend 8" and my stock rim is 7" looks fine to me..drives fine...feels fine...I may drop the air down again to 32lbs from 34...just tweeking a little and there.

here are the measurement differences between the stock 245-60-18 tire and the nitto 285-60-18
i'll list the stock sizes first:
sidewall 5.8" vs. 6.7"
radius 14.8" vs. 15.7"
diameter 29.6" vs 31.5"
circumference92.9" vs 98.8"
revs per min 682.0 vs 641.0
the speedo reading w/ the nittos is 6.4% too slow. when the speedometer reads 60mph you are actually traveling 63.8 mph
i made a little chart fto keep in the car.
the numbers are rounded
23 mph =25 mph
28.5 mph =30 mph
33 mph =35 mph
38 mph =40 mph
42.5 mph =45 mph
52 mph =55 mph
57 mph =60 mph
61.5 mph =65 mph
66 mph =70 mph
100 mph =106.4
200 mph = 212.8
hope this helps.....the tires look great, ride great and are quite.
