Finally went today and had my hood insert sprayed with the rhino lining, actually looks pretty good! The Carbon Fiber insert would have been cool but didn't really wanna spend that much on something that would probably get full of chips/niks, the condition the one I just got sprayed was in.

Anyway, easy mod.....highly recommend, I know a few of you have already had this done.

My VX no longer says Ironman.......;-(

I've had the same idea - got any pics? I've seen it done with LineX and curious to see the contrast.

LOL, didn't mean to give a mis-led post title;)

As soon as I get a chance I am gonna snap some shots of it and get them posted on here. I was surprised to see that it actually has a shine to it almost like factory paint would. Wasn't up on my rhino to know the finishes you could get..

But yeah pics will come soon.

Was is rhino line it in place or did you or they remove it for rhino lining? I can't tell from the picture... any other pictures of it? Just curious.

Thanks for the tip Coach, I'll remember that next time!!

I removed the insert, took it to the place had it back in within an hour after spray-n. It was a quick/easy process.

Oh, I've got a surprise for everyone on my VX. I got sick of the ironman logo as well, in fact, I wanted a whole new color...

Pictures posted next week, I am so darn excited!

I had been thinking of having my cladding rhino lined as they are starting to look a little faded and have some scratches on them from plowing through thick brush and stuff... I also have a crack in my back bumper cladding from backing into a pole... if I plasti-welded it, clean it up and then rhino line it, it would be as if it NEVER happened... well except the dent in my back door! DOH! Live and learn I guess.

Coach,

I am nervous a little about my project that should be finished next week. Its not Line-X, in fact, I am not sure what it is called, but basically rubber is added to the paint to offer that rubberish LineX security but with the same color as the painted car. hence, an all black polished shiny car, but the cladding has rubber in the paint to offer the security. I will certainly post pictures to show you the outcome. I have no clue how its gonna look, but I am big in the offroading, camping, hiking, biking stuff, and especially big in to fitting in those tight parking spaces, because I am confident that my car won't get dented, people are scared of it... we'll see!

I too have thought many times of have-n the cladding done with the Rhino! Not sure though if I am ready to take that one on though because I would remove it all and have it done and since mine is a daily driver not sure how it would look drive-n around without the cladding on it...who knows, may get twice the looks then? But I too have a few dings in mine that I would love to cover up.

XCross, you could take the cladding off on Friday night, paint it Saturday and then get it back on Sunday and have it ready for Monday. Mine is a daily driver too, I dropped it off last Monday and wont' get it until this monday evening. I thought I owuld be able to drive the motorcycle but it poored rain every day and then I hurt my shoulder playing soccer... Go figure!!!

So, my dear kind wife has been able to give me rides around... How sweet! I got lucky, cause we also work together!!!

Dude you have it ALL planned out...you make it sound so simple!

Isn't the cladding sort of a pain to take off? Then get-n it all back on? uhhhh, for now I will just keep think-n about it:confused:

Sounds like a good plan!

I plan on doing this with my cladding if and when it becomes too scratched and faded for my taste.

Oh yeah, visit Isuzu and buy the clips for the cladding screws and some double sided 3m tape before you start taking off.... No, its easy to get off as long as you know how the cladding comes off. Take a look at Tones website directions for installing the hitch, that will give you guidance for the rest of the cladding....

Good luck!

Oh, I had the back all off when I put Tones hitch on, so I know what i would be in for! Shoot, should have had the back sprayed back when I had it off. Thats it, I will do a piece a week....it would eventually all get done, like in a 10 week time span.

hmmmm idea;eekb;
