cleaning the egr

Have 2 questions.

Can the egr be cleaned? And if so, what's the procedure? I've checked mine and the conection is tight, but wouldn't mind servicing it if possible.

Also, in my noobe mind, I thought my '99 silver VX was a Kiaser silver. However, v-mag says Isuzu only made the Astral silver in '99 and didn't start the Kiaser silver till '00. Any thoughts on that?

That's true. In '99 they only made 'em in Victory White, Ebony Black and Astral Silver. Foxfires, Protons, Dragons, and Kaisers were added for the 00-'01 model years.

Do a search using this site's search function and you should find the answer about the EGR. I'd answer but I'm not quite clear on it myself without doing the same. :-)

I've searched "How To's" and "Tips" - nothing comes up for egr+cleaning, clean. A lot comes up for the egr on "Troubleshooting", but the closest I've seen to what I want to know is a mention that the egr filter can become dirty or clogged. No comment on cleaning it.

Thanks for the info on paint color. That will help me with trying to match the color to touch up a couple of dings.

Someone here can probably tell you the paint code for the kaisers.

I think I did come across a blurb about removing the EGR tube for cleaning once before... will see what I can dig up.
