With that damn CD changer! Now Isuzu has a grand total of 12 of my CD's. And the kicker...I still haven't seen the first 6 CD's they were going to remove! OH...and what's more, their going to charge me to have this set of CD's extracated from the changer. I've a half of mind to try and disassymble the charger myself. wonder how hard that would be?
Anyhow, I'm done with my rant. I drove straight from the dealer to Circut City and bought a new headunit. I opted for the new Sony Xplod, CDX-R3000
features:
signal to noise ratio=120dB
freq.responce=10-20,000Hz
speaker impedance=4-8 ohms
max power 52W x 4 at 4 ohms
23.2 watts per channel continous power
This is a no nonsense unit that had greatly improved the clarity and power of the stock headunit.

I was one of the lucky ones... I think I got mine back in less than a month, and they're in decent shape and are still playable. But yeah, I've made up my mind that the factory audio units are gonna go... it's not if, just when.

120 Db S/N is very good. I really liked the sound of the Sony HU when I had one in another car. Very fluid, much less jitter than other units I've tried. Sony is one of the few HU that actually sound like they are putting out close to their rated power.
I only keep burned CD's in the car. CD's take a beating in the car, even if you're careful. If one of your passengers likes your music, you can just give them the disk, and make another.
I only use Maxell black CDR's in the car, they are the best disk, and skip the least in my testing. Unless you want to go nuts for something like MFSL's ultradisk.

I second that - I love my XM. Only thing is I'd like to keep my Delphi unit at home and just put a XM-ready head unit in the VX for the factory look. I don't really see any way to mount the Delphi that I'm all that crazy about (without console/dash modification at least).

I see that a bunch of us got stiffed for our CDs, its been 2 years and I still have not got mine back, they were all originals too, luckily the second time around I was able to get them out (I change cd changers once per year) I got 6 empty cases sitting at home, whats even worse is that the dealer went out of business.
Is there a # at Isuzu HQ to call for situations like this?
