I was able to get my VX upto 108 mph. With the power mode selected it went 110 mph. This was tested on a long strech of unused road in AZ.
Has anyone else tested the speed limit?;Dy;

111 (well jsut a little over 110 with power mode, definitely over 110, but not enough to say 115)!! WHeeeee Kind of a weird feeling in the VX I might add!!! Not sure I will do it again!!!

Car and Driver lists the top speed as 115, govenor limited. I remember Baxman saying his truck hit the limiter at 118 mph, when it was on the dyno.
I really haven't had my truck out on the open highway since I installed the blower, but I'll keep your requests in mind ;Do;

A properly maintained VX has no difficulty meeting the posted speed requirments in all states :D
On a closed track, I hear it can reach 115mph.

Yep, I reached 115 when the governor kicked in when driving on interstate 5 at night coming home from San Francisco.
There were no other cars in sight.. luckily no black and white ones either. ;Dr;
I had to clean out those carbon deposits...

As Zu said, the speed limiter kicked in at 117.71 MPH on the dyno, but that, of course, is without wind resistance. Later I kicked myself for not trying the alleged trick of turning on the four-way flashers to defeat the limiter to see if it's true. That speed was in 3rd gear @ 5800 RPM. let's see <scratching head>.. gear ratio divided by redline... times actual speed... carry the <muffled mumbling>... The theoretical top speed of a non speed-limited stock VX in a vacuum (no wind resistance) would be 168;eekp;

What are you guys NUTS??????? ;eekb; Now I realize that clocking top speed is a "GUY THING"(Anita I can't believe you participated in an event like this.... the shame). My father-in-law couldn't wait to tell us how he got his Lexus up to 147 on an open stretch in Arizona. Here the thing..... he didn't brag about it on a good COPS website. :nor:
ps... Scott I only do the speed limit..... Girl Scout honor! ;Dy;

Just kidding!;Do; I'll find out someday how fast mine will go.. Just way to much traffic nowadays.. I know someone at the nearby speedway and maybe they let me on the track.

Remember, this is your site too:bgwb:
And BTW, suuurrrrre you do:rightg:
Mine usually tops out about 80. It topped out at around 90 once, but that was when I was trying to keep up with someone.

Did 100 mph one day going to work on the tollway...was surprised to see how good the VX handled it...
I seem to get to the electronic speed limiter MUCH quicker with the SuperCharger.....

Ah, I-5. I remember it well. My top speed in my VX with stock tires was about 110 on the speedo, IIRC. Since I got my BFGs, my GPS says 105 is my max to date. Guess I'm getting old...
I do recall pushing my Typhoon >100 a lot more often than I do in the VX. The power just made it too easy. My Sonoma hit its brick wall pretty much right at 100. Boy was that disappointing as I was trying to pass someone on a non-divided highway one time with a semi coming from the other direction...

I had a 2000 s-10 that topped at 93.. How they picked that number I have no idea... I couldn't even follow people on the highway. I just started setting the cruise just over 90.
