In my on-going battle to get rid of my "Check Engine" light which is always on with a "P0440 - EVAP System No Flow During Purge" code I purchased a "vacuum control solenoid" from Merlin at St. Charles (he is a great guy and they shipped very fast!). I explained my condition to Merlin and his reply was:
I talked this over with my master Isuzu tech, who explained that there is a valve mounted on the intake manifold called simply the 'vacuum control solenoid'. This is evidently becoming a common failure part on late Isuzu's, and could very well be your problem as well! The canister and related components aren't very common to fail, so I think we're looking in the right direction here. The vacuum control solenoid is part #8-01997-201-0So, I received the part... and I don't want to sound stupid... but I can not find where the damn is located in my VX!! :confused: I looked all over in the VX manual with no results and also under the hood and can not find it anywhere around the intake manifold. If someone can point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. Here is what the part looks like:
