Hey guys. I got a couple of questions. And yes i did use the search function first ;). For you guys running 35s, how bad was the effect on power, and on your MPG. How far can you go on a tank? Are there any gears available for the VX? I know for my amigo their were 5.38's available (mine came with 4.56). I know some isuzus ( 94' and up rodeos) came wtih a DANA 44 rear axle. I also think that some of the 4 cyl rodeos came with 4.56, so that might be a cheap swap from a junkyard or something assuming the VX has the same axle.

Also, i was wondering, what takes more away from an engines performance (MPG and power): Smaller tires on a wider rim (33's on 15x10) or larger ones on a smaller rim (35's on 15x7)?

I can't think of anyone running 35's. Allan was for a while but has since bumped up to 36's I believe. Most of us are hovering around 33 as an upper limit so far.

Would love to see it, though. ;Dp;

Mr. Bam Bam,

WHAT OME spring did you use and did you add a body lift?

CALMINI LIFT, but to put 35"'s on, it takes a LOT of trimming of cladding, and also on the metal body support between the front doors and the front wheel wells. Also had to do a few more turns on the torsion bars, to handle any possible contact of the fronts with cladding, when breaking hard. It does work now without any contact, except when crawling thru BIG holes.
All in all, I think holding at 33" is probably the smartest path to follow in big meat mods.

Seems all off road tires being used are 12.5 width like the BFG's.

Anybody try the wide look of the Mikey Thompson in the 14.5 width?
