Houston Meet Time

Now that the Texas faction has returned home from Moab I figure it's time to meet at my place again to look over film/photos. Was thinking a saturday in mid June (to let the pool water warm up just a bit more). Just let me know what date works for everyone. Those folks who've never been to one of our gatherings, and are willing to make the drive out Katy way, drop me a line and I'll provide directions.

Figure on the usual "Tone's mods in the driveway", swim & many beverages (no more 150 proof though!), then dinner. I was also toying with the idea of slipping in an Astros game if the date works out. As is always the case the more the merrier and newbees are welcome.

The 'stros may prove to be a little difficult as they only have one Saturday home date in June (the 19th vs the Angels I think). This being the case I'd have to have a quick accurate head count for advance purchases as I'm sure the "one saturday" will fill fast. I don't want to just buy a bunch of tickets ahead of time and get stuck with unused ones. Or worse yet, not have bought enough for everyone to attend. Open to suggestions

Here's the deal regarding the VX assault on Minute Maid Park and the Astros. The game is Saturday 6/19 and it's the only weekend they are home in June. Needless to say their will not be a bunch of available seats once the locals turn over their respective calendars and see the single Saturday. Tickets are going to go quickly.

I'm willing to get the tickets ahead of time but I'm gonna need FIRM commitments by 5/26. I'll go on line and get them then. Tone-I got you down for 3. I'm in for 2, and I'll wait to hear from anyone else.

It's an evening game so the plan stays the same for early gathering in Katy.

Hello, Houston people, anyone else going to come out and play??? I am waiting to see if Clayton and his girlfriend want to venture down, she wears the pants so we will see, I am not holding my breath.

Glad to brought it back up to the top. I was going to see if there is any local interest for the game after the meet (if there are enough owners to qualify as a "meet"). I plan on getting the tickets at the end of the week. To date I have Tone (and younger half), VX Crazy and the misses & myself with ticket requests...anyone else? If the rotation stays the same it looks like Oswalt is pitching.

Providing some more interest comes up between now and saturday (19th) plan on Katy in the morning and all are welcome to stay until time it's time to head off to the ballpark at 4pm. We have a new owner in Katy that hopes to attend so it will be nice to have new additions to the regular group....if the regulars can make it. Will keep you posted.

Well... I have to go to a wedding that day, so I can't cruise down there to surprise y'all. :( However, I WILL be down there this year (I swear!!!), and hope to make it a Texas/French Quarter road trip. I'll keep you all posted. Have fun, and do a Jagerbomb for me!

As feared the seats went quickly but I've been in this level before and "it ain't bad" as long as the sun isn't beating down.

First pitch at 6:00 so we'll be leaving Katy around 4 for dinner downtown. Those not going to the game are still welcome to spend the early part of the day with the rest of us here in Katy. Usual activities apply.
