I can say enough about this product, I've had one for quite some time. The day I put it in I noticed a huuuuuge difference, very peppy and full of life.
Some time has passed from the day I bought it and I've noticed some of the pep was lost, thought to myself "maybe I just need to clean the filter"....went down to AutoZone bought the cleaner and oil(comes in a kit), put it on my self waiting for the right time to clean it(you have to air dry it). So, after a month or so I found a time when I can have the VX sit out for a day or so....cleaned the filter, let it dry out over a day, oiled it up and slapped it back in.
DA-HAM! Big improvement.....it's like my VX just drank a case of Red Bull, If you don't have a K&N air filter, go get it......NOW!
I give it two SUPER big thumbs up!
Just had to say that....thank you and good night.

...Having a spare makes cleaning much easier. Just keep one ready at all times then swap as needed.

Jay,
Are you using the filter that goes into the stock filter box, or a cone filter?

I have a Generation II FIPK (http://www.knfilterchargers.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=57-1506-1) on my Cherokee. Does anyone know which intake will fit a VX? Also, how do you remove the restrictive "kink" in the stock air box, if using an OEM drop-in filter?

I have stock air flow, I've asked around about the cone and got so-so responses. I have to investigate to see what they offer after I get the SC installed.

Yesterday I added the calmini intake cone filter. There is a noticable differance in the acceleration and throttle response. The only down side that I've noticed so far is the noise. When you stomp the gas you can hear the filter sucking in the air. But I guess that is good.

I installed the flat K&N last week and my son and I took our 1st road trip in the VX(I`ve only had the truck for a month),and we got 23 mpg!Tire air pressure was 38 psi,and we used regular(87)gasoline.For a time I thought something was wrong w/ the fuel gauge, but we got 23mpg both going and coming home.

...site after a lot of searching and don't see any difference between the Calmini and the K&N except for a different mounting method but the fliters look the same. It does appear that the Calmini is far more expensive than the K&N. Any other diff besides price?

I couldnt find the k&n filter when I was shopping. I ordered the calmini because they gave me a break on shipping since I ordered the suspension @ the same time.
T, I should have my ride finished and back together this week. I'll post the pics. Thanks for the gear info. I'll try to talk to spazz.
thanks

Dallas - do you know the K & N part number for the cone filter that everyone seems to be using?

Sorry, I don't. There are so many filter options through K&N that it's hard to post one part # that everyone uses. You should look for a cone filter with a 3" opening (outlet).
You should be able to find a K&N for around $40, and something similar for possibly cheaper.

I can get the kn for you if your interested. I do not have any in stock but can get ahold of them. I can not do much with the price but $45 plus shipping. Thats the stock drop in filter. If your interested e-mail me at sylvia240sx@hotmail.com. Has everybody been having good luck with the stock drop in? I have been contemplating getting one but, haven't decided as of yet. Is it worth it?
