View Full Version : Rancho 9000 vs. Bilstein 5150 ?

Anyone who's used both or have any knowledge of both can offer advice on which is the superior setup? The Bilsteins have the remote reservoir, but the Ranchos have adjustable ride settings... which do you prefer, and why?

Also, what travel should I get? (too lazy to check the manual).

Hi Transio,
Hotsauce has had both the Rancho's & standard Bilstein's. (B46-1738-H2 & B46-1739-H1) He can give you some thoughts on them.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the Bilstein 5150 with the remote reservoir are not offered in the correct travel dimensions for the front or rear. Nor are they offered with the stud upper mount for the fronts.

Same goes for the OME LTR series of shocks

Ok, I just ordered a set of these, but they shipped me I ordered: B46-1738-H1 instead of B46-1738-H2. Anyone know the difference, if any?

The Rancho's are also available with a reservoir. They are the RS9000X Pro Series and sell for about $190 each at 4Wheel Parts Wholesalers (http://www.4wheelparts.com)

Ok, but does anyone know the difference between these:

- B46-1738-H1 and
- B46-1738-H2 ???

I need to know if I can use the shocks that they shipped to me. I can't find any details about their differences online. :(

I'm sure you've already seen this, but the B46-1738-H1 shows to be the front shock(s), and B46-1739-H2 shows to be a rear shock(s) per the Bilstein website. I'm still not sure what the B46-1738-H2 is. On THIS (http://www.denunzioracing.com/bilstein/suv_isuzu.htm) site it shows the B46-1738-H1 as being a front for the Rodeo and the B46-1738-H2 as being the front for the Trooper.

I just put in a call to Bilstein. The difference between the 1738-H1 and the 1738-H2 is the valving. Everything else is the same. I'm waiting for a call back to know the exact difference in the valving. I'll keep you guys posted.
