I know this info is readily available but thought it would be nice to have in one combined format, especially the capacities. Enjoy!

LUBRICANTS: Transfer case oil spec is INCORRECT - should be DexronIII as well. Oil viscosity IS based on temperature to be operated in before next oil change as is Front and Rear diffs to a lesser degree - see your owners manual which states all of the above as well.

Fixed! Thanks for catching that Tone, it's cut-n-pasted from a Delphi servicing CD system a buddy got for his auto shop.

I'm a bit skeptical on the "oil change w/ filter capacity"...
Five quarts always brings mine up to the full mark.:_wrench:

hm yep, i'm with you on that one, didnt even notice it 4.3 quarts is usually what comes out.. but 5 quarts always goes back in;Db;

Being this will eventually get lost in the archives, I'll copy this into the Knowledge Base (http://www.vehicross.info/modules.php?name=Encyclopedia) These specs will be in caps and search able. At the top, you will find the whole list for printability.

.
This may be a DUMB question...

....but are these specs good for a 1999 model as well.
(Its only climate stuff and wheel size that are really different from a 1999 isnt it?)

Is Allignment different due to 18 inch wheels...shouldnt be????!!

Thanks

I have always put more than five in and I have never burned oil.

Since the original data is from an ASE service book they tend to be a bit conservative on the oil capacity to keep some oil-pit jockey from overfilling. I typically use 5 quarts with a filter change using the Mobil-1 M104 filter, but do keep in mind that depending on the filter used your actual amount could vary by 1/2 quart. It's always better to run a little low than a little over on oil! ;)

...just to "bump" more than anything else.

Even using the search function this was so far down the list that I didn't get to it :o

Google brought me back here ;)
