It's my understanding that the VX/3.5 L has an issue with throwing the number 1 rod. My VX got hot yesterday and also threw the rod. I am awaiting to hear what the total damage is today and will post this this afternoon. Thanks to all for the input on finding an engine. As a newlywed this is a pain in my ***** and my wallet.

Well now for the first time ever I am giving thought to selling my wifes 2002 Trooper limited. Vehicle has a 100 K 10 year warranty but that's if Isuzu chooses to honor it.

Isuzus faulty engine design oiling problem along with their " prove it's my fault not your fault attitude" is unacceptable.

I just can't see having too baby-sit their faulty engine to prevent premature failure & then try to prove to them that I babysat it before they would effect a repair/replacement.

Try www.car-part.com and do a search in your area. Shipping costs are a factor. I just got a new (almost) driver's seat for my '99 VX for $100 + $50 shipping. I think that is a deal!

Now at 163,000 miles and will eventually be looking for more components for my VX as I will refuse to let-her-die! She will be with me for a looong time.
