SAP! On my seat!

So, any ideas on an easy way to get sap off of the leather? My buddy got hammered and crashed in my passenger seat. Of course since he was drunk he seemed to rub up against a lot of sap covered trees and had it all over his shirt, then slept in the pass. seat and rubbed it all over! Half my seat is splotched with black spots of sap! PLEASE HELP!

Towel, warm water, dishwashing soap, and a lot of patience and elbow grease.

Don't rub too hard just steady pace and on the surface to begin disolving the sap.

Not too sure about sap, but I can tell you that regurgitated chips, salsa, beer, and margaritas comes out just fine! (sorry... too much info?)

Carbona Stain Devils #1 -- I had something very similar on my seat and after putting some of this on it, it wiped right off like it was water. I don't know where you can find this stuff, but the bottle has a number on it -- 1-800-227-2662 or www.carbona.com

Meant to clarify.. thats "Carbona Stain Devils #1". There are numbers 1-8 I think, and each is supposed to be for something specific. #1 is for Chewing gum and glue stains.

THANK YOU! Thats what I was looking for bill! I'll give everyone a report after I try it. By looking at their chart I need the #10 tar remover. I just hope it doesn't mess up the leather at all.

You could also try "GOO GONE" it's a citris based cleaner that I use all the time. It might be gentler on the leather then something with lots of weird chemicals.

Just be sure to test it out on an inconspicuous spot first to see if it discolors or damages the leather.

Well I went everywhere yesterday and could not find Carbona Stain Devil #10 they had like every other number but no 10! So any other suggestions would be great!

Start with leather cleaner first and see if that does the trick. If not, move up to something stronger.

Have you tried mineral oil? Oils break down sap quite well.

I know RainX dissolves sap on contact but I don't know what it does to colored leather.

Also, straight alcohol will break down the sap but it will most likely dry out the leather. Of course, you could always retreat the leather afterwards.

Might be time to find some new friends?
