Just talked with My buddy and he said that they were slowly but surely working toward the GM V6 programmer.

As most of you are aware, I drive a GMC Sierra 2000 w/5.3L V8.

Airdeano (my buddy) sent me one of their tuners for my truckso that I could experience the improvement.

Here's what is available and will be in the VX tuner if possible.

1. Speed limiter- Stock --130 mPH -- Z-rated tires

2. Ping Control (timming) 0 (stock) -- +5% and -5%

3. tire height from 25 to 44 inches in 1/4" increments

4. engine tune --- stock , economy, TOW/RV, and Hi Performance/off road

5. axle ratio

6. Shift points -- leave stock, economy, TOW/RV, & Hi Performance/off road

7. Octane level -- Regular, middle, Premium

8. Speed ometer calibration -- Yes/No

9. Shift firmness -- Stock, Economy & TOW/RV.

I installed it in my truck, took 7-1/2 min start to finish, and set it up according to instructions.

I set the speed limiter to 130 MPH (Tire rating) and then got 55 MPH of that in 1st gear before the shift at 5800 RPM.

It pulls hard from 1500rpm til I run out of intestinal fortitude (guts, gonads, what ever).

I did have to move my seat back a notch to keep my speed down.

I hope it was OK to dangle a carrot while letting you know that we were still working on the ECM tuner.

I am into it...thanks for the update feather. Revoteknic has a universal module but I am sceptical.

These will be specific tunes for the VX/GM V6.

Can you get the error codes with this tool also?

Yes!! the booklet I have for mine includes a table of the DTC codes and their meaning.

You can read and clear the codes with this programmer.

Sounds like a great upgrade; any idea what the final pricetag will be? Ballpark?

under $400.00 is the target.

I can get chips and programmers for most Ford and GM trucks and SUVs now. Including the diesels. They are all in that price range.

I know I'm just one in a long line who really wants to try this out.

I would like to know my true MPH and MPT by telling it I have 456 gears and 305 70 17" wheels.

the unit I got to test allows for gear ratio input , transmission used, tire height measured from the ground to the top of the tire, gas used etc.

right now I'm using 87 octane, economy tuning, and Tow/RV transmission programing. Very impressive responce.

I'm just curious... will this programmer that your friend is doing make other adjustments like LS1Edit? I am getting close to completion of my LS1 (2000 Z/28 5.7L) motor swap and will need LS1Edit or somthing else like it. I want to shut down-stream O2 sensors off as well as general tuning and who knows what else. What are its limits and capabilities? Just wondering... TTYL!
