I was slightly pissed off at the fact that the Yakima fairing I bought for my yakima rack didn't fit with the clips that it came with.

So in the spirit of never quitting until the job is done, I got to thinking, and this is where the challenge presented itself... yes... thinking.

First I took off the rack bar... simple enough right?

Then, I took a look at the stupid f'ing clips on the fairing. They werent long enough basically to go around the bars.

So I thought of a solution, and again, this is where I have difficulty. I started smelling smoke. After I found the fire extinguisher, the smell reminded me of my favorite power tool!!!

NNNNNNNNNNNAAHHAHAHH!

Death to the plastic clip loops. (also helps to get rid of the spline on the inside of the clip)

Doesn't look so bad.... at first.

Then you have to screw it in with something (at first this step eluded me, but then as my neighbor watching this pointed out, it would look better than duct tape and bubble gum. I told him to go eat some more grass but thanks for the tip)

Then, after strapping it to my shoulders and pretending I was a 747 while running down the sidewalk, I thought "holy crap, maybe this would look better on my car than on my shoulders!"

So I put it back on.
http://www.thewolfweb.com/photos/00309402.jpg But as you can see, it needs to be adjusted. Its actually perfectly straight, not curved in or out, but I think it'd look better being a bit more convex.... or a word like that.

So DON'T do it my way, it sucks and looks like crap. I'm going to redo it as soon as I care enough.

Maugan, did you see the instructions on how I mounted mine on the other post? mine was perfectly straight and snug.

julio,

yes I saw it.

This was honestly an exersize in comedy. I was hoping that would be blatantly clear with my "extraneous" comments and angle-grinder pose :P
